The Crucible

My nephews attend Two Roads High School part time. Josiah is in a drama class. The teacher at the beginning of the school year decided to put on a play, The Crucible. She asked Josiah if he would be interested in being the lead, John Proctor. Josiah thought and prayed about it, and realized it was something he wanted to do. Boy, am I glad he did!
I saw the play last night with Chris, my sister and her in-laws, my grandparents, and my mom. We decided after talking with Steff and Russell my boys should wait to see it after we do, if we let them see it at all. After last night's production, we decided no way.
If you are unfamiliar with The Crucible, it is about the Salem Witch Trials. It is a heavy and depressing play. The acting in it last night was phenominal! Josiah nailed the performance. He brought tears to my eyes on more than one occasion. I was amazed at the level of intensity the kids brought to this production. Did I mention the original teacher left mid-way through the year? A new teacher was brought in, and she did wonders for the kids!
If you have some time next Thursday or Friday, go see this play. It's free. It's amazing. It is worth your time. I have never seen a production at this level from a high school, ever. You must see it! And Josiah, if you read this, I am so proud of you! You are an amazing, wonderful actor!
